APPOINTMENT OF TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Dana Petroleum plc ("Dana" or "the Company") is pleased to announce, effective 13 August 2001, the appointment of Mr Andrew Bostock to its board as Technical Director.
Mr Bostock joined Dana's senior management team last year, bringing a wide range of experience in oil and gas asset management and operations and business development. Earlier this year he became technical director of the Group's principal subsidiary, Dana Petroleum (E&P) Limited. A petroleum engineer by background, Mr Bostock has previously held senior positions with Shell International, Enterprise Oil and Talisman Energy. Immediately prior to joining Dana, he held the position of North Sea General Manager for the private oil and gas company Venture Production.
There is no information in relation to Mr Bostock which is disclosable under rule 16.4 of the Listing Rules.
Also effective 13 August 2001, Mr Peter Taylor is retiring from the Dana board after serving the Company for eight years as a non-executive director. The board is planning to appoint a successor to Mr Taylor to maintain its balance of non-executive to executive directors and has begun the process of identifying suitable candidates.
