HISTORY

Dana Petroleum was formed in 1994 to exploit opportunities in the UK North Sea. Today we’re a $3 billion oil and gas business with operations in the UK, Egypt, Norway, the Netherlands and Africa.

2012	On 3 September, Dana’s new global headquarters were opened by Scotland’s First Minister, the Rt Hon Alex Salmond MSP.
2012	The Government of Cameroon awards Dana a production sharing contract (PSC) for the Bakassi West block in Cameroon.
2012	Dana acquires Triton area assets in the North Sea from Amerada Hess.
2011	Dana acquires Guillemot area and Scott field assets in the North Sea from Petro-Canada UK and becomes operator of the Guillemot subsea assets.
2010	Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) acquires Dana.
2010	Dana acquires Petro-Canada Netherlands B.V.
2009	Dana secures additional production, development and exploration assets through the acquisition of Bow Valley Energy.
2008	Dana makes the Rinnes oil discovery in the North Sea (now known as the Western Isles discovery).
2007	Dana acquires Ener Petroleum in Norway.
2007	Dana acquires Devon Energy’s interests in Egypt.
2006	Dana achieves first production from the Goosander field in the North Sea.
2005	Dana swaps assets with Amerada Hess, exchanging interests in the Ujang Pangkah field in Indonesia with Hess’ interests in the Hudson field. This deal increased Dana’s equity in Hudson to 47.5% and gave us our first UK production operatorship.
2004	Dana acquires Hess’ remaining interest in the Barbara discovery.
2003	Dana and Venture Production jointly acquire the Kittiwake Area assets in the North Sea from Shell and Esso.
2002	The Barbara discovery well in the North Sea is drilled.
2002	Dana acquires a number of North Sea assets from Agip, including a 19.5% interest in the Hudson field, a 12.4% interest in the Banff field and a 19% interest in the Otter development.
1999	Dana acquires the remaining UK upstream assets of DSM Energy, which includes a 7.52% interest in the Claymore field in the North Sea.
1998	Dana participates in two key exploration discoveries – the Goosander field in the North Sea and the Ujang Pangkah field in Indonesia.
1997	Dana acquires Seafield Resources.
1997	Dana acquires Petroceltic, which has interest in the Kinsale Head gas field in Ireland, and a 50% interest in the Western Tano exploration block in Ghana.
1994	Dana Petroleum is established.
