Triton Offshore HSE Advisor

Position Overview

Reporting to the OIM, with a reporting line onshore to the onshore Senior HSE advisor and a Functional Home in HSSE. The offshore HSEA will act as focal Point for HSE activity at site.

​This role has the following responsibilities and outputs:

  • Provide HSE related information, advice, training and support
  • Monitor, maintain, review and develop HSE systems at site level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the process safety improvement plan for the triton asset.
  • Investigation of incidents and follow up of lessons learned.
  • Carry out regular audits (including toolbox talk and permit) and area inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and site directives.
  • Ensure all relevant HSE Information is effectively communicated to site based personnel in a timely manner.
  • Develop and deliver Health, Safety and Environmental training, promotions and induction material.
  • Monitor progress and completion of corrective actions arising from site related Synergi cases.
  • Record, measure and trend analysis of site HSE performance aligned with KPI’s, including site HSE Dashboards.
  • Support Risk Assessment activities – stand alone and operational.
  • Active member of site Emergency Response Team.
  • Plan, organise and perform site emergency response exercises in accordance with company requirements.
  • Provide input to safety alerts, bulletins and lesson learned from incidents occurring at site.
  • Lead and participate in all site HSE meetings.
  • Populate Synergi cases with relevant details and attachments, including all remedial actions in accordance with procedural requirements.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the onshore senior HSE advisor.
  • Ensure safety and emergency equipment is maintained at site in accordance with the company requirements.
  • Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change.
  • Manage allocate HSE budget effectively with minimum waste.
  • Support the offshore prepwork leading up to HSEX/OPEP regulatory inspections.
  • Attend and input into the monthly process safety KPI reviews – on/offshore combined.

Accountabilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of site safety case including MAH awareness, relevant regulations, company procedures and best practice.
  • Implementation of company Safety and Environmental management systems at site level.
  • Work proactively with the offshore teams to provide timely and accurate health, safety and environmental advice.
  • Interfacing with contractors and Service providers on all HSE matters.
  • Support the involvement of Safety and Environmental Representatives.
  • Actively seek areas for health, safety and environmental improvement and development sustainable efficient solutions.
  • Thoroughly investigate incidents so that lessons can be learnt and are effectively communicated across other sites and groups.
  • Develop close working relationships with the onshore teams.

    Education Attainment and Accreditation

    • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, or considerable technical experience in a similar role
    • Environmental qualification desirable (e.g. Associate membership of Institute Environmental Management and Assessment)

    Professional Skills and Experience

    • Previous skills as a site based HSE advisor in the oil and gas industry.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory regime.
    • Appreciation of Human Factors and Major Accident Hazards (Causation and Prevention).
    • Strong working knowledge of operations – including Oil and gas processing, water treatment, utilities, logistics/marine and preferably drilling/well operations.
    • Radiation Protection Supervisor.
    • OPITO Emergency Response Team Leader desirable.
    • Basic/Further Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET/FOET)
    • Supervisor Management skills and experience desirable
