Job Summary

The Triton FPSO is operated by Dana Petroleum as the asset duty holder. The OIM is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the personnel on board the Dana asset and has overall accountability for safe and efficient operations on Triton.

Accountable for the day-to-day planning of all activities and supervision of FPSO personnel and facilities on Triton. The role supports delivery of safe and optimum production.

  • Ensure that the installation is safely managed as described in the Safety Case and statutory legislation, in parallel with Dana’s corporate goals and values.
  • Manage activities on the Triton Installation which will deliver all performance targets in a safe, efficient and cost-efficient way.
  • Engender a culture of continuous HSSE performance improvement and provide visible Site Safety Leadership.
  • Ensure the safety of employees, plant and equipment by providing and applying a safe system of work which complies with Company policy and industry best practice. Protect Dana’s reputation within the UKCS by ensuring license to operate & consent limitations are not exceeded, and all operations comply fully with internal policies/procedures and current legislation.

Roles and Responsibilities

This role has the following responsibilities and outputs

  • Responsible for assurance that all offshore operations comply with Dana’s internal policies and procedures, safety case requirements and external legislation.
  • Promote performance mindset within offshore teams to focus behaviours on safe working and optimising production levels against key targets under the direction of the Dana Leadership Team.
  • Accountable for effective management of emergency response on board the asset
  • Supports emergency response for any related contractors near to the asset, such as divers
  • Accountable for protecting the asset and all Dana infrastructure within the designated 500m safety zone
  • Accountable for system acceptance on all projects and modifications delivered to offshore operations
  • Responsible for meeting Dana’s contractual and regulatory compliance obligations as offshore operator and Duty Holder
  • Specifically, responsible for taking all reasonable steps to ensure asset compliance with the Diving at Work Regulations 1997 during any diving operations
  • Ensure the offshore asset integrity, inspection and fabric maintenance plans are executed
  • Maintains offshore operating budgets and control of associated asset costs
  • Manage and coach the offshore operations team and key contractor personnel
  • Implements and maintains training and competency plans for offshore personnel
  • Offshore focal point for all third party and regulatory inspections and audits
  • Consults in the review of key asset projects and modifications to ensure asset will meet operational requirements
  • Consults on the contracting strategy and service requirement to support asset operations
  • Participate in onshore led activities e.g. HAZOPs / HAZIDs, project reviews as required
  • Develop and implement offshore manning strategies and participate in recruitment
  • Development of future work plans and long-term asset strategy.
  • Establish a collaborative, resilient work environment that equips all levels of the organization to take accountability for achieving stretch goals and shared outcomes.
  • Responsible for individual Training and Competence Compliance as required for your role.
  • Accountable for the overall Competency Compliance of the offshore team on the FPSO. Ensure a proactive approach is adopted to drive Competence throughout the teams.
  • Encourage and support succession planning in the team.

HSEQ Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the health, safety & welfare of all personnel on board.
  • Functional responsibility for assuring effective Process Safety Leadership onboard Triton, including ensuring continuous improvement in related Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Manage and have complete Ownership of the Barrier Model ensuring the required checks and balances in place for effective management of the cumulative risks on Triton.
  • Ensure effective management of Triton Major Accident Hazards, including ensuring minimum numbers of Emergency Response personnel available to react to a major accident event.
  • Demonstrate pro-active Safety Leadership, creating and supporting a culture of employee involvement and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the emergency response plans and associated emergency system readiness · Ensure compliance with the environmental management processes and systems.
  • Manage and promote compliance with and contribute to the development and operation of the Safety Management System on Triton.
  • Act as visible role model for offshore safety, maintaining and improving the installation safety culture on a daily basis. Everyone working for or on behalf of Dana Petroleum has the following responsibilities with regard to his or her work to:
  • Familiarise with the Dana Policies, including the policies on HSE, Risk Management and Major Hazards ensuring they are fully conversant with the One Dana Management System.
  • Familiarise with the work and be aware of all associated risks for People, the Environment, Assets and Reputation (PEAR); · Understand and comply with their roles and responsibilities
  • Fully participate in the Dana Serious About Safety Program and additional HSEQ training or instruction by or on behalf of Dana Petroleum;
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure all safety standards and procedures are strictly followed. Report any incident, near miss, hazards (unsafe acts/situations) and improvement suggestions;
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks. Ensure all risk assessments are correctly documented.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and standards, ensuring all correspondence is correctly recorded and cascaded.

Management Responsibilities

    Everyone working for or on behalf of Dana Petroleum who has Dana staff roles reporting to them has the following responsibilities regarding his or her role as a manager:

    Performance Management

    • Performance objectives (SMART goals) for direct reports to be in place and agreed by the end of January. · Performance appraisal for previous year's performance to be held by end of March.
    • Mid-year review conversations to be held with direct reports by end August to ensure that goals are on track and still fit for purpose.
    • Conduct an annual review of the job description for all direct reports. Version to be signed off as part of the performance review on an annual basis.

      • Experience in the formation and implementation of new processes, initiatives and organizations. Able to identify and remove barriers that prevents progress - leads change, as and when required.
